The wedding will take place in Anna’s native region, the Puy-de-Dome in Auvergne. The Auvergne is situated in central-southern France. It is famous for its dormant volcanic landscapes, charming villages and castles, and fine gastronomy, including very nice cheeses. Clermont-Ferrand is the capital of the region. 

The closest town to the wedding is Issoire. It has 15 000 inhabitants and is ideally located, in the plains and at the confluence of the River Allier and the Couze Pavin. It is 25 minutes south of Clermont-Ferrand and is not far from the A75 motorway. Issoire has been called the gateway to the south because of its highly colourful architecture, tile roofs, and mild and sunny climate. For centuries it has been known as a “fine Auvergne town”, famous as a place for trade and fairs.
