Maid of Honor
Meet Jess, the extraordinary woman who has been putting up with my antics since the early 90’s. We go way back, like VHS tapes and dial-up internet, and our friendship is like a fine wine—it only gets better with time. Living on the same street growing up, we grew up more like sisters than best friends. The jokes on her, she thought she was an only child but really she just got stuck with an annoying little sister she will never be able to shake! As my Maid of Honor, Jess has a Ph.D. in dealing with my melodramas, a black belt in sarcasm, and a heart of gold that she probably stole from a leprechaun (she is as short as one, after all)
Best Man
Kevin, the middle brother, is a jack of all trades and a master of indecisiveness, which could be why he is a jack of all trades, (like, thank goodness we only have 3 dinner options to pick from for this wedding). He’s a devoted Flyers fan, loves college football, (he won’t admit it, but there is a growing soft spot for the Alabama Crimson Tide thanks to Meg, his soon-to-be wife), and is a well-traveled bourbon connoisseur. When he is not too busy redesigning cup holders for corporate jets, he can be found planning his next great adventure to far off lands or scouring the internet for a new car. His list of previous vehicles reads like the car equivalent of a jury selection list. For now, Kevin calls DC home, but the search for a less expensive city, and a place with a garage for the aforementioned cars, means his days there are numbered.
Matron of Honor
Meet Bethany, my Matron of Honor, and the super nurse who scrubbed into my life and stitched together a stronger friendship than titanium. We met in the intense world of the Surgical ICU, where life hangs in the balance, but our friendship blossomed outside of work over just a few shared glasses of wine. Years later we are more than just former coworkers, we are best friends sharing in the adventure of raising boys! She's not just a Matron of Honor; she's the commander of chaos, and always comes with the biggest speaker and the best playlist to get the party going! When Jonathan plotted to pop the big question, he turned to Bethany for some help to pull off the ultimate surprise. Equipped with a little white lie about a fun afternoon out and an easy excuse to take some pictures, She was there to cheer us on when I said YES! Fun fact, this girl's fabulous husband Tyler is our officiant for our big day!
Best Man
I’ve known Alex his entire life – that experience has taken years off mine. From his melt-down inside a Value City because a button-down shift didn’t fit right, to watching him diffuse a near brawl in the middle of Main Street at 1:30 am, and all the other antics in between, Alex’s presence always ensures a good, if not delightfully weird, time. His skiing strategy rivals that of an avalanche, he attends Flyers games strictly to see them toss the gloves and throw some punches, and I’m convinced he would lay down his life in the name of Adele. Currently running things at Pub & Kitchen in Philly where he pretty much splits his time between creating innovative dishes that weave together unexpected flavors to ignite the diner’s senses and captivate their culinary soul, and trying to perfect the art of tempering an egg.
Bridesmaid
Meet Nicole, I’m sure when she was informed she was getting yet another younger sibling she never dreamed of the ride it would take her on. Despite having a small age gap, Nicole and Brittany seem to share more in common than they would have dreamed. The age difference never stopped them from swapping makeup recommendations and clothes. She is my go-to makeup artist for any big event, and the one I can count on to keep me up to date with the best fashion finds. Much like any older ( and let's be honest wiser) sister, she is a source of advice for many of life's challenges, which includes sharing her years of parenting advice for raising boys.
Groomsman
All the other poor kids playing Hockessin soccer never stood a chance when they gave Dan and I those fashionable purple reversible jerseys all those years ago. A friendship born on the pitch while smoking other teams 10-0, distanced through different schools and then revived over beers at Grain. Dan writes color commentary for NBA 2K, can name an actor from the background of just about any movie from the past 2 decades, and in his spare time can be found reading up on the basic rules for card games, (they make him just as confused as he was when he was picking teams to root for – Spurs, Titans & Red Sox - woof).
Bridesmaid
Meet Sarabeth, Our friendship began over brunch and the sacred ritual of watching football—she with her Virginia Tech Hokies, me shamelessly cheering for Notre Dame. Yet, in the glorious chaos of football loyalties, we find common ground in our shared love for the Eagles. Fun fact: Sarabeth met my dad before she even knew me, all thanks to her time at the Harley Store. When we're not debating the merits of wine varietals, you can find us plotting our next football-filled adventure.
Groomsman
I first met Evan while changing out an ICEE flavor at the movie theater (real glamourous work), an initial interaction that left him thinking about finding a new job again. Little did he know though, ultimately I would go on to teach him everything he knows about popcorn, management, beer, and baseball. We later successfully befriended four members of the Greek Mafia in the parking lot before the 2017 NFC Championship game, (I taught him the rules of football too). When we’re not throwing back Canadian beers before a Flyers game, Evan is usually chasing after his two daughters or researching the latest trends in hairstyle.
Bridesmaid
Meet Alice, The girl who single-handedly kept me sane during Nursing School. Picture it, pre-requisite medical math, and two girls bonding over a shared love for the Phillies. Fast forward a few semesters, and hundreds of hours spent studying in the halls of Delaware Tech later, and the friendship was set in stone. Our career paths have taken us to very different areas of nursing, but our friendship has remained as close as ever.
Groomsman
Meet Rich: avid Star Wars fan, devoted Jeopardy watcher, relentless Knicks fan, and master of Dad Jokes/Puns. We first met when Rich’s wife Nicole came to work at the Christiana theater – continued meeting when said job drove us ALL to get drinks, (Cinemark has that effect on both their employees and their significant others). Rich has probably run more 5ks than I have run total miles and somehow helped to convince me to participate in multiple Tough Mudders and 10Ks. Fellow international traveler, baseball fan, and dad to a toddler boy. Hair-larious puns for 600 please… Answer: Rich was previously adamantly against facial hair, but then it grew on him.
