Things To Do

We’re so excited to share a few of the favorite places in the area with you. Dreams Resorts offers a complimentary shuttle to Willemstad where guests can enjoy a floating market, floating bridge and shopping (twice daily; Monday – Saturday).
Cross Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge

Cross Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge

Koningin Emmabrug, Willemstad, Curaçao, Curaçao

Spanning the St. Anna Bay, the Queen Emma, or also known as the "Swinging Old Lady," is a floating pedestrian bridge that connects Willemstad's two halves, Punda and Otrobanda. Built in 1888, the Queen Emma Bridge is supported by 16 pontoon boats and swings open laterally to allow ships to enter and leave the bay.

Hato Caves

Hato Caves

Franklin D. Rooseveltweg, Willemstad, Curaçao, Curaçao
, +599 9 868 0379

The Hato Caves are 300,000 years old and the biggest caves on the island. Step inside the cool cave chamber to escape the heat of the day and learn more about the stalactites and stalagmites formations and how stories sprung up around their appearance, which some say resemble a tortoise and a sleeping giant. There is also a cactus garden and interpretive walk to explore.

Blue View Sunset Terrace

Blue View Sunset Terrace

Weg Naar Westpunt, Westpunt, Curaçao, Curaçao
, +599 9 864 6013

Iguana meat is offered on menus across Curacao and is often barbecued and served with a wink—as it’s thought to be an aphrodisiac. Try it at The Blueview Sunset Terrace with sensational views across Knip beach.

Handelskade

Handelskade

Willemstad, Curaçao

On the Punda side of Willemstad is Handelskade, that picturesque stretch of pier you've seen on every Curaçao postcard. Colonial Dutch buildings painted in brilliant pinks, blues and yellows line the waters of St. Anna Bay. Grab a seat and a daiquiri at one of Handelskade's outdoor cafes and watch the Queen Emma Bridge swing open to let ships into the harbor or pop in to one of the shops along the water. If you wake up early enough, you can get your hands on fresh fish and produce at the daily floating market at Handelskade's northern point. Or, you can walk across the bridge at night to see Handelskade's illuminated façades and reflections glinting on the bay.

Octagon Museum

Penstraat 100, Willemstad, Curaçao, Curaçao

This quaint-looking house has an unexpected historic significance; it was in this building that the Venezuelan “Libertador,” the famous Simón Bolívar, spent time before he set out to assemble the forces that eventually put an end to Spanish colonial rule in South America. Today the “Octagon” serves as a small museum in memory of Curaçao's connection to Simón Bolívar.
