The resort offers many water sports, like kayaking, jet skis, paddle boarding, and parasailing.
While not as large as the ruins at Chichén Itzá, these are worth the quick visit if you plan to visit Tulum. If you want to take a day-long excursion from Playa del Carmen, we recommend visiting these and the Sian Ka'an on the same trip, as these ruins sit at the entrance to the lagoons that are part of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere. One of our favorite parts of our trip to Tulum was traveling by boat through the various lagoons via canals that Mayans used to use as trading routes.
This is a day-long excursion to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is well worth a visit. We went here during our trip to Tulum and had an amazing time going to a local fishing village, boating through the multiple lagoons, and snorkeling in the Mesoamerican Reef System, which is the largest coral reef in the western hemisphere and the second-largest in the world.
