This is hands down the best sushi in the entire DFW metroplex. Be warned: they don't take reservations so if you go on a weekend, you are definitely going to have to wait for 1-2 hrs to get seated but it is SO worth it. You can put your name down and enjoy the massive variety of bars in walking distance.
Our very first date once we moved to TX has here. It is a Fort Worth staple!! The rooftop is so nice and has open seating on a first-come-first-serve basis. Feel free to grab a table or sit up at the bar, you are bound to chat with the people around you either way. It's part of the Texas charm. Make sure to try their calf fries and tamales. Lastly, do NOT skip out on their banana pudding for dessert. It's like a spoon of nostalgia in a martini glass.
Great option for brunch on the day after. You NEED to get their biscuits. If you have a sweet tooth, definitely order the cinnamon rolls which are made using their biscuit dough. They can get pretty packed so we recommend making a reservation unless you are fine with sitting at the bar (which is our preference).
Located in downtown Fort Worth, Scat Jazz Lounge always has awesome sets and traditional cocktails. Make sure to eat before going since they don't have dining options. Tip: buy a ticket in advance to reserve the best seats in the house.
Great bookstore that converted to a cocktail lounge. They have amazing bartenders and even better cocktails. This also has a secret speakeasy area that you access through a bookcase. Our advice: skip the speakeasy and stay upstairs for a more appealing ambiance.
Beautiful gardens to walk through. Make sure to wear your comfy shoes on this journey.
One of our first dates in TX was at this zoo. It is so expansive and well-designed. Similar to the Botanic Gardens, make sure to wear comfy shoes because you will be walking a lot. The elephant and giraffe exhibits were our two favorites.
