We met at the Atlas drinking coffee. You could have guessed that day we would fall in love, but it actually took us three years of friendship to even see each other in a different light. Two weeks before I moved down to Napa we realized, over some mediocre Jack In The Box, that this was something worth working for. So we did, for a year and a half we did long distance and became really good at communication. Brian finally realized it was more expensive to keep flying back and forth and finally made the move down to California.
Brian had been taking me on dates all week and had me convinced he was proposing on Saturday. I didn't think much of it when he again wanted to go on a surprise date Friday evening. He picked me up after work and we started driving. He took a very back way ending up at "our beach". This was the beach he had made it official three years earlier. When we arrived Brian opened his trunk to reveal the most beautiful picnic spread. After we picnicked and fed the birds Brian took out a journal that he had made full of pictures and reasons he loved me. Through tears of happiness (from both sides) he flipped to the last page of the book where he had written out the proposal for me to reread daily for the rest of my life! He then flipped to a secret compartment he had into the book (wow what an engineer) to reveal the most beautiful ring he had designed for me. I know you've been on the edge of your seat wondering what my answer was and I am happy to say it was a yes! Of course the proposal wasn't the only surprise he had planed for that day. He had also arranged our closest friends to be there for this special moment. After I said yes they came running from all directions. We felt so loved and celebrated.
