We met the way true millennials do - on Bumble! After a couple weeks of chatting over the app we met for our first date at NettBar on December 27, 2019. By the end of the date we both knew there was something there. We went on several more dates that lasted for hours on end since neither one of us ever wanted to leave! We became “official” on February 2, 2020 and just 12 days later we went on our first trip together to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. We all know what happened the next month…lockdown was in full force so our fun outings were no longer possible. We were forced to do everything at home and began spending more and more time together, going on walks and bike rides, cooking, and hanging out at the Menil. Gradually, things began to open up and life slowly returned to our new normal, but all that time at home together was special and we knew this was a forever thing.
My family sees A Christmas Carol at the Alley Theater every year as a tradition. The day of the play, I got ready and then Brennan and I went to have brunch at Empire cafe. On the way home, Brennan suggested we pick up a bottle of wine and head to our favorite park, The Menil, to enjoy the weather before heading to the play. We sat on a bench under a tree, and after a little while Brennan began talking about our future together, and then he got down on one knee, and I said YES!
