Brandy Laurel Gillam-Bangs grew up in various areas of Arkansas, the second born daughter of Don and Willa (Dimp) Gillam. She has two sisters, Holly and Marcy. She studied English at the University of Central Arkansas, and it was near the end of her college career that she discovered her love for ballroom dance. She trained immediately as a ballroom instructor, and began teaching and competing as a co-owner of a Little Rock studio. She then spent 6 years in New York City as a professional ballroom dancer before returning to Arkansas in 2009. Brandy has two sons, Jasper (9) and Owen (6), from her first marriage. She currently owns a ballroom studio in Springdale and continues to work at competitions throughout the US. Jeremy Lynn Allen was born in Harlan, Iowa to Jeff & Linda Allen, and grew up with two older sisters, Jaina and Jessica, on the family farm for the first 9 years of his life. His family then relocated to Rogers, AR where he spent the remainder of his childhood. He attended JBU for a degree in music, continuing with a Masters in Composition from University of Kentucky and a Doctorate in Composition from Cleveland Institute of Music. After 11 years of teaching and running a nonprofit in Cleveland, he returned to NWA in 2017 and now lives in Fayetteville with his two boys from his previous marriage, William (11) and Elliott (3). Jeremy works as a freelance composer and an adjunct professor at the University of Arkansas.
