How We Met

3.12.19

We matched on a dating app called Bumble; started talking and within a day or two, we had already planned our first date to Waterfront on Saturday, March 14th. Taylor, not realizing that Branden had never had sushi before in his life nor that his dad was allergic to shellfish. We basically talked the entire date and had so much fun that we planned our second date for Monday, March 16th. We both told people who asked how our first date went "I think it went well because we already have our next few dates planned." We went on several more dates that same week. He asked me to be his girlfriend on March 29th. Something clicked with us, because since then we barely spend any time apart; even most of our family's ask 'Where's (Branden or Taylor)' without even asking us how we have been lately. We both definitely think that this is our best relationship ever and have talked about getting married and having kids even before we were engaged.

The Proposal

3.12.23

On one of the coldest days of the year, Branden urged that we go on a walk. I said no way because it had just snowed a few days earlier, but with some additional prodding from Branden we headed out for our walk; with me wearing flannel leggings underneath my jeans, my thickest coat, my cashmere scarf, a hat, and gloves, as well as him wearing his big sweatshirt and winter coat. It began much like any other walk we've taken before. He asked me if we could stop and use the bathroom as soon as we were at the park, which was our typical route. I informed him that it was likely closed because it was still winterized, but I followed after him beneath the shelter building. It was then that he removed his gloves, produced the largest ring box I had ever seen, dropped down on one knee, and proposed to me. Naturally, I answered yes, but I then questioned as to if the ring was fake (it wasn't). We turned around and began bouncing home like a couple of school children who had just been let out for the summer. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. Thanks for letting us share our stories.
