Public Records is a multi-faceted arts organization and music space in Brooklyn with both indoor and outdoor experiences. The venue, inclusive of bar, restaurant, outdoor garden, and live listening room called The Sound Room, features custom sound systems designed in collaboration between Devon Turnbull of OJAS and Jason Ojeda, formerly of VOID.
Our wedding venue operates under seated capacity limitations and age restrictions. Invites have been addressed to individuals we are able to accommodate on our big day. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
We invite guests to choose from Traditional Indian, Indo-Western, or Semi-Formal attire based on whatever makes them feel most most comfortable. Don't feel pressure to purchase something specific for the event, and feel free to reach out to Shelby or Braham if you have any questions! Additional inspiration and details are located in the Outfit Inspiration tab.
We have secured room blocks at a variety of hotels, which can be found under our "Hotels" tab. We recognize guests may choose to stay elsewhere to enjoy the city as they wish. Wherever you choose, we recommend booking at your earliest convenience to avoid increased prices (many hotel blocks free up rooms if not booked a certain number of days in advance). Generally, we recommend staying in Lower Manhattan (West Village, NoHo, SoHo, Tribeca, or Lower East Side) or southwest Brooklyn (Dumbo, Cobble Hill). Both options will allow easy access to the wedding venue and offer various exploratory and dining experiences. For those who have not been to, or spent much time in NYC previously, may prefer staying in Lower Manhattan to more easily explore the city. If staying in closer proximity to the wedding venue and seeing a different side to New York is the priority, Brooklyn is a wonderful option. See our hotel block for some suggestions for both options!
Public transportation recommendations will vary depending on your chosen hotel location, however, most guests will prefer to take an Uber to/from the venue. Public transportation options include: the 2/3, A/C/E, or 4/5 trains, with a short walk required to reach the destination. Public Records is a short walk from the Barclays Center, Boerum Hill, and Cobble Hill.
