The day that Jessica was born totally rocked five-year-old Nicole’s world, but she wouldn’t give her back for anything. They may have been born sisters, but have cultivated a strong friendship over the past 26 years…and there’s no one Nicole would rather talk to (or really listen to…) about teaching, running, sweets, and cats.

Not every brother pair has shared interests and stories as unique as these two. They have played intense games of basement hockey, earned Boy Scout badges, conquered mountainous slopes on skis and snowboards, built water ski pyramids, cycled across Ohio each summer, cycled across the COUNTRY post-graduation, and even survived a few years of living together as full-grown men.

Sierra and Nicole became best friends in their 6th and 7th grade gifted class when they were given the seemingly impossible task of building miniature architectural structures. A 3 AM playground project might have almost broke them, but it lead to them being best friends. Over the past 19 years, the two have become more like sisters, so much so that Nicole’s parents call Sierra their “adopted daughter.”

McDonald and Brian met in Hawaii. McDonald got forced to drive Brian and Cannon around because they were checking into their unit. He invited the pair to a party, and the party never stopped.

Audra and Nicole met at Vacation Bible School in elementary school, but didn’t become friends till much later as they attended different schools. As they got into high school, they grew their friendship on a youth group service trip to Nashville, while learning German phraseology in German I, and during weekly “Love Talks” at McDonalds. After high school, Audra, Nicole, and Sierra traveled around the country together and became even closer!

Brian and Cannon became friends during their time in the USMC because, as Brian said, "The Marines kept putting us together!"

Fallon Forbes

Fallon and Nicole became friends in college. On the first day of sophomore year, they happened to sit next to each other in Studies in Shakespeare and after one class period, admitted to each other that they were actually terrified for the class. Late night study sessions led to evenings hanging out and before long, they were as thick as thieves as their personalities were so similar and they just “got” each other.

Jacob and Brian made each other’s acquaintance in early 2021, shortly after Nicole and Brian started dating. As Jacob said, he felt that Brian was a “huge step up” from the other guys his sister had dated. Now they mostly enjoy teaming up on Nicole, like any good brother and future husband would.
