4:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Cocktail Attire; Military - Service Dress Uniform (Marines will be wearing Blue Dress "A" with blue trousers).
We are planning for an outdoor ceremony and we recommend you bring a jacket or shawl with you. Historically, the average high in for Eagle River in August is 60 degrees and the low is 44 degrees. Base elevation at the lodge is 2,500 feet and it will be chillier than in town. Directions: Take the Glenn Highway to the Arctic Valley exit. Follow Arctic Valley road past the golf course and up for approximately seven miles. You will see Alpenglow Lodge and parking at the top of the hill. If you end up at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson gate, you've gone the wrong way. Turn around and follow the road back across the east side of the Glenn Highway, and take a left on Arctic Valley Road. Please be aware that the road is not paved and will likely be a washboard by the time August rolls around. Travel up the mountain will take longer than you anticipate.
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Immediately following the ceremony, the ski lift will be available for use. The lift will take you to the top of the mountain and provide you with stunning views of the Anchorage, Cook Inlet, and the surrounding Chugach mountains. If those views peak your interest, please plan to ride before consuming alcohol. Additionally, we recommend a jacket or shawl as it will be even chiller at the top of the mountain, where you will be at almost 6,500 feet. Ladies, If you would like to ride the lift, it is wise to wear (or pack a pair) of flats as getting on and off the lift will be a challenge in stilettos. For those of you not interested in going to the top of the mountain, never fear! The bar will be open, hors d'oeuvres will be served, and the photo booth will be fully operational. Please enjoy yourself! Should you chose to head up the mountain, the bar, hors d'oeuvres, and the photo booth will be waiting for you at the conclusion of your adventure.
7:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Dinner, drinks, and dancing to follow the ceremony.
10:30 am - 12:30 pm
There is no dress code; come as you are!
