FAQs

The Wedding Website of Blair Laurie and Tucker Delaney-Winn
Remember when the most serious question on this page was "What's the dress code?" *sigh* Below you will find details regarding COVID-19 safety along with other (more normal) wedding FAQs. We cannot stress enough that we do not want anyone to feel uncomfortable and completely understand if you are not able to attend. We want to be transparent and give everyone the information they need to make their own decisions. We will continue to update this page as necessary and communicate any unanticipated changes. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or text us (Tucker: 339-222-0447, Blair: 973-479-6285) Also, the dress code question is at the bottom :-)
Question

What about COVID?

Answer

1. First, please know that 100% of our wedding attendees are fully vaccinated (with the exception of 5 kids who are not yet eligible for vaccines). 2. Our one ask is that everyone takes a rapid antigen test on Friday 9/24 or before traveling to the wedding. You can buy it at CVS (see link above), then do it at home or your hotel room, and get your result in less than 15 minutes. If you get a positive test result, please text/call Tucker (339-222-0447) or Blair (973-479-6285) asap. For the safety of our immunocompromised loved ones attending the wedding, we ask that anyone who tests positive refrain from attending (and we will find a time to celebrate with you privately at a later date ;-) For more COVID precaution questions, please read on to the next FAQ's.

Question

What is the COVID status of your wedding guests?

Answer

All wedding attendees are fully vaccinated (except five kids under 12) and are required to take a rapid antigen test on or before the Friday of the wedding weekend. If anyone tests positive, they will be asked, regrettably, not to attend our events so we can keep everyone safe.

Question

What is the plan for your vendors?

Answer

We have requested that all vendors be fully vaccinated, take a rapid antigen test on the Friday before the wedding, and be masked during events. If for any reason this is not possible, we will notify everyone in advance.

Question

Should I wear a mask?

Answer

Since everyone is fully vaccinated and will have fresh negative test results, you do not need to wear a mask but you are absolutely welcome to do so for any and all of the events. Funky/fancy masks encouraged!

Question

Will social distancing be enforced?

Answer

As with the masks, since everyone is fully vaccinated and will have fresh negative test results, we will not be enforcing, nor seating for, social distancing.

Question

Which events are inside vs. outside?

Answer

I. Welcome Reception: Outside under a tent at Tucker's Parents' House's front yard (how 'bout those apostrophes!?). Bathrooms are inside the house. II. Ceremony*: Outside in seated rows in the back garden of the inn. Bathrooms inside the inn. III. Cocktail Hour*: Outside in the backyard of the inn and on the covered back porch. Bathrooms inside the inn. IV. Reception: Inside the inn in the dining room (can you count the "ins" in that sentence?). Bathrooms are...? You guessed it! Inside the inn. V. After-party**: Inside The Woodshed (a bar). See next FAQ for more info on the after-party plan. VI. Sunday Breakfast: This will be in the same area as the reception. So same rules apply.  *Rain Plan: in the event of severe rain, the ceremony and cocktail hour will happen on the porch and in the dining room.

Question

What's the plan for the after-party as it relates to COVID precautions?

Answer

As of now, our plan is to have the after party at The Woodshed, a bar down the street from the reception venue. The Woodshed staff is fully vaccinated and they anticipate that it will not be crowded in late September, as it will be off-season. That said, we are checking in with them weekly and monitoring the Cape's general COVID rates. We'll provide a further update if this plan changes. We ask that if you attend the after-party, you wear a mask at the Sunday Breakfast (besides when eating/drinking).

Question

Is there a shuttle to and from the reception to the afterparty?

Answer

Yup! It will pick us up from Sea Pines Inn at 10pm, drop us off at the Woodshed down the road, then take us back to Sea Pines at close (midnight-ish).

Question

What’s the dress code?

Answer

Tucker suggested "Horse-Fleece Formal." Blair opted for "Cocktail Attire." The ceremony will be outside on the last Saturday of September. In Cape Cod, this means either 50s and rainy, 80s and sunny, or anything in between. In the words of moms everywhere, "pack an extra layer." Finally, even though it's a wooden dancefloor, we plan to cut a rug. So prioritize comfort & groovability.

Question

Any questions? Please reach out.

Answer

If you have any questions, please email, call or text us (preferably text). We want to make sure you have all the info and can proceed however you feel most comfortable. Thank you and can't wait to celebrate with you soon!
