Julia and Bennett met freshman year at Lafayette College in Easton, PA. They lived in the same dorm that year; the infamous Gates Hall. They immediately hit it off, and quickly became best friends. The rest is history…

During their junior year at Lafayette College, Bennett studied abroad in London, U.K., and Julia studied in Florence, Italy. Their first international trip together was spent in Venice, Italy. One of the most memorable nights of all their travels was getting late night pizza in Dorsoduro and eating it in a quiet alleyway by the canal, daydreaming about their future together. In the fall of 2022, they returned to Venice for a week-long trip, a gift from Bennett to Julia on her 25th birthday. On the first night, they walked to the neighborhood of Dorsoduro and ordered a pizza. They found the same vacant alleyway they had visited back in 2018, and sat together to eat by the canal. Right before the first bite, Bennett got down on one knee and (finally) popped the question! The pizza was cold (but still delicious) when they finally ate it.
