Where should I park for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

We recommend taking an Uber/Lyft, but if you drive, the parking lot can be found on 8th street, between Moore & Mifflin. The parking lot's address is 1832 South 8th Street. Bok's address is 800 Mifflin Street.

COVID Guidelines as of 8/23/2021

Answer

Guests must provide proof of vaccination (card or picture of your card and your ID) for all events. (We will continue to update our website to reflect the most current guidelines for the city of Philadelphia and our venue, Bok). One shot is considered "vaccinated".

Should I bring a mask?

Answer

Please bring a mask. You do not need to wear a mask during the ceremony, cocktail hour, or reception. Bok is requesting that guests wear a mask in the public spaces. Public spaces for our wedding include the hallways, bathrooms, and elevators on the first floor. You will also need a mask if you plan to utilize Uber/lyft as your mode of transportation. If you forget to bring a mask we will have masks available for all guests.

What is Bok?

Answer

Our venue, Bok, is a historic vocational school closed by the school district of Philadelphia in 2013, BOK is working to lovingly restore the building into a new, richly layered, and constantly evolving center for creatives, small-businesses, non-profits, small-batch manufacturers, and beyond. The project takes stock of the existing infrastructure (wood shops, culinary training kitchens, science labs, and classrooms) to enable activity and affordability to create a revived place of making, training, learning, and job creation in South Philly. Today the building is filled with jewelers, architects, furniture makers, fashion designers, milliners, product designers, artists, charitable organizations, daycare, and even a local boxing club in the previously empty classrooms. Nearly 80% of our current tenants are residents of South Philly.
