Kirk & I met Spring 2020 as we were asked to play on the same volleyball team by one of his best friends/groomsman Stephen Krats. Though both Kirk and I have been playing volleyball at the same bar for years and had mutual friends, this is the first time we met and clicked instantly! First day we met was on a Sunday, fresh out of quarantine and our team got together to play some volleyball and get to know each other. All I could remember is how funny Kirk was as he couldn't stop laughing & complaining about how much his feet hurt from the sand - his laugh was contagious. Fast forward to the next day, Kirk and some buddies had a beach day with Amanda & Heather. I couldn't join because I had to work but thankfully Amanda and Heather invited Kirk back to our house to grill afterwards so I got the chance to hang out with everyone then. :) We all sat on the driveway for hours listening to music, telling stories, laughing and I found myself wanting to sit next to Kirk the entire evening. Eventually we found ourselves alone and he kissed me. What a relief we shared mutual feelings! Since then we have been inseparable and I thank God every day Kirk decided to come over! ;)
I'll start by saying that ring shopping is tough but in the end, it was all worth it! After going from place to place to find the perfect ring, I got a referral to a great spot where I found the perfect one. It took about 20 minutes in store to find it! After getting the ring, I still was not sure when to pop the question. I went back and forth in my mind of when would be the perfect time. After thinking for awhile (approximately 1 hour after picking it up), I pulled her off her work computer and did the dang thing right in our hallway on a Friday afternoon! She was completely shocked and it was simply perfect! Glad I only have to do that once!
