Flight

Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP)

This is the closest airport to fly into for the wedding! We are currently looking into group flight discounts to offer for guests. Speaking of flights, we already bought our tickets. We booked our flight with TAP Portugal from Chicago on 09/02 at 10:05 PM (TAP Portugal) to Milan which arrives on 09/04 at 12:35 AM. There is an extended layover in Lisbon but there are other flight options as well. So, it's not too early and we suspect prices will get more expensive as time goes on. As an FYI, prices will start to rise heavily starting in April. If you plan to extend your trip, there are other airports to fly into such as Rome, Venice, Naples, and Florence.

Train

Milan Airport Malpensa Express Train to Milan City Center

There is a train station at the airport and you can hop on the train to go to Calolziocorte, Lake Como, Lecco, etc. All depends on where you want to go! The ticket prices typically range from €3 to €10. If you would like to visit Lake Como, The train starts from the airport and gets to Saronno train station. Then you have to change and take the train which heads to Como Nord Lago (Lake Como.) Ticket price for both routes is usually around €10.90 (€8 for Malpensa Express and €2.90 for the Saronno–Como route, operated by Trenord). We believe the best website to use for booking a train ticket is on Omio, however, there are other sites that are just as good!

Ryan Air

For those of you who are thinking of possibly visiting another country but are limited on time and don’t want to spend a few hours on a train... I highly recommend using Ryan Air for flights. Offers cheap pricing on flights and we have never had a problem.

Milan Porta Garibalidi Train to Calolziocorte (Lake Como)

This train goes from the city center of Milan to Calolziocorte. The cost for this train starts at $5.75. The train stop in Calolziocorte is about a mile from Best Western Hotel Nuovo.

Rental Car

Rental Cars

There are several car rental companies to use such as Avis, Budget, Hertz, Enterprise, etc. If you are not familiar with manual vehicles, make sure to book a car a few months in advanced for automatic cars! You must obtain a International Driving Permit (IDP) in order to drive in the country. Hotel

Best Western Hotel Nuovo

We have a wedding room block for guests from September 05 to September 07, 2021 at Best Western Hotel Nuovo. The rooms are $135 a night which includes tax. It is only 9 minutes away from the wedding venue. It is also close to a bus stop and train for easy travel!

Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport - Rome

Rome Airport, also named Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (IATA: FCO; ICAO: LIRF), is the major international airport of the city of Rome and the largest airport of Italy. Most of you will be leaving from this airport on 9/11/2022. It is located in Fiumicino, a town 35 km southwest from Rome city centre. Fiumicino Airport is a hub for Alitalia, Alitalia CityLiner and Vueling and WizzAir and a focus city for Blue Panorama Airlines, Poste Air Cargo, Neos, Norwegian Air Shuttle and Ryanair.
