We went here on our first trip to Austin. If you love history, this is the place for you. You will get a full history lesson on the Republic of Texas, and the capitol building is just a four minute walk to the University of Texas at Austin (horns down and gig 'em).

Zilker Park is a great place to walk around or ride bikes. There's also kayaking, as well as the Barton Springs Pool. This is also where we got engaged!

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is a great place to visit and provides a history of the former first lady's passion for making Texas beautiful.
