Alicia and Nick met the old-fashioned way (or at least that's what the kids in the future will call it) by swiping right on Bumble. Alicia's opening line being "Will you talk to me if I say I'm a Yankees fan?" to which Nick actually responded! They spent the next couple of weeks texting and planning a time to meet. While most people think of Friday the 13th as an unlucky day, Nick and Alicia decided to test their luck. Nick picked Alicia up at Dover House for an evening of tacos, tequila, and churros at Bar Taco. They spent the next few weeks hanging out more (with lots of desserts involved) and eventually made it official. With Alicia's best friend Kellie getting married that July, and her other best friend Liz getting married that September, Alicia joked with Nick that she only needed him to stick around long enough to be her wedding date...but then they booked a cruise, a trip to California, kept buying tickets to Red Sox and Yankees games, got invited to more weddings, and a year later decided to become roommates. The rest is history.

One weekend in late June 2019, Nick ran upstairs to ask Alicia if she wanted to hike Talcott that Friday with Trevor and Rachel. He said Trevor called and wanted to invite them. Alicia loves going up Talcott and of course agreed. Alicia thought it was a bit weird that Trevor and Nick were planning something for the four of us to do (usually being Alicia and Rachel's job), so she texted Rachel jokingly to ask if the boys were feeling alright. Rachel played it off real well telling Alicia she had been talking to Trevor about how she wanted to start hiking more like she used to and Trevor must have decided to ask Nick to go too. Looking back on it now, Alicia should have probably found it strange that the next day her mom called her to go get mani/pedis that week. Alicia and Nick met Rachel and Trevor at Talcott and hiked up to one of the lookouts that Alicia and Nick love. After taking a normal picture with the view, Nick got down on one knee and proposed. and in complete shock, Alicia said yes to her best friend.
