In early 2015 our mutual friend Andrew invited each of us to join a co-ed kickball league. Bailey played first base, Allie was catcher. We met for the first time at the first game, which we lost (and every other game but one). We awkwardly flirted for 5 weeks until it all came together during the fifth game. It's been magic ever since.
After living it up in San Diego for the first 2 years of our relationship, Bailey was offered his dream psychology internship in North Carolina. So, we packed our bags and the hedgehog and hit the road! We've now been here for more than 2 years. We bought a house and adopted 2 dogs and a pig, so it's safe to say we're rooted.
Bailey got his friends to trick Allie into thinking she was going to the beautiful Duke Gardens to hang out one Saturday. She had some suspicions, but the location is a gorgeous sprawling land full of botanical beauty, so if this was going to be the spot, she knew it would be perfect! Once we arrived Bailey picked a stunning location and dropped to one knee. He gave a speech about how Allie is a saint for putting up with all his terrible jokes, and then popped the question. Our friend was hiding in the plants to capture everything! We couldn't have planned it any better.
Unmoved by commercial engagement rings, Allie decided to design her own. The middle stone is an emerald-cut diamond sitting on a band of white gold. To show her love of the color grey, each side has 3 descending baguettes of grey spinel, a rare colored gemstone.
