The wedding ceremony is at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Savannah, GA starting at 11am. The cocktail hour and reception will follow at the Alee Shriners Hall.
Please be punctual! If you can, arrive about 15 minutes early to the ceremony for a prompt start at 11am.
RSVPs will be done here online, and the due date is November 13th.
We do ask you refrain from any photos or usage of phones during the actual ceremony. But we would love for your to take photos to commemorate the rest of the day. Thank you!
The wedding party and family will be taking some photos, but others should feel free to move on to the reception hall for a cocktail hour and snacks!
Yes!! All of our venues have tons of parking. St. Frances has a large grassy area right off of Dutchtown Road. And the Alee Shriners Hall has a big parking lot. Also, it's all free!
The dress code is cocktail attire. Also, while this is a winter wedding, it's Savannah, so those of you traveling from the Great White North Rachel called home for 20+ years, it'll most likely feel like mid-March to mid-April. Check the weather diligently before coming to have weather-appropriate attire. All events will be indoors, though, so even if it's chilly, you will have ample heating at the different venues. And even though the ceremony is at a Catholic Church, there is not a specific dress code besides what you would normally wear to a wedding with cocktail attire!
While it does take place at a Catholic Church and is a Catholic wedding, it will not be a full mass. It likely will last about 45 minutes. If you are looking for a Catholic Mass to attend this weekend, St. Frances Cabrini offers services at 4pm on Saturdays and 8:30am, 11am, and 5pm on Sundays.
We will have a buffet with a variety of foods for the meal. We will have some vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free items, but if you are nervous about other allergies, please indicate specifics on the RSVPs.
While we would love to accommodate everyone and their loved ones, only the partners and children listed on your invitation are invited to the wedding festivities.
No! All parking is free, and we are having an open bar. But if you wanted to tip the bartenders, that would be the only reason for needing cash.
Yes! Some are already listed on the Travel tab! But feel free to stay wherever you're comfortable!
While your presence is more than enough, if you want to bring a gift or card, there will be a designated spot for those! A registry is listed here on our website if you need ideas under the Registry tab.
Make it out to John Auer. With the name change and combining of bank accounts, this will be the easiest option.
Yes! We will both have the last name Auer!
So glad you asked! Please check out the Things To Do tab! There are plenty of tourist spots, museums, restaurants, bars, and other activities to do! But you really can't go wrong with anything you see recommended online.
