Person of Honor
Being siblings, Travis is Ashley’s first & oldest friend. They grew up getting into trouble together, & more frequently, getting each other in trouble with their parents! While they may have spent most of their childhood bickering, they were also each other’s biggest protectors. In their teen years, the two bonded over their love/hate relationship with swimming & working together at the YMCA as lifeguards. Some of Ashley’s fondest memories from high school is from tagging along to Boy Scout camp while their mom chaperoned and watching Travis learn & succeed at new skills. Today, despite living in vastly different environments, they both enjoy the being in outdoors. They are looking forward to the next time they can cook together over a campfire at the family cabin.
Bridesmaid
Paula & Ashley lived next door to each other in their freshmen dormitory at Albion College. The two spent a lot of time together in each other’s rooms studying, reviewing different Harry Potter theories, & gossiping. Paula was always supportive of Ashley’s running & Ashley cheered mentally from the sidelines as Paula finished a tough major and defended her thesis. After college, Paula & Ashley spent their holidays back in Michigan catching up over brunch & traveling to Universal Studios Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Today, Paula lives in Brooklyn & works as a college counselor. The ladies still love studying biology & psychology together (& of course also gossiping), however they now do it over long FaceTime sessions with large glasses of wine.
Bridesmaid
Amanda & Ashley met through the track team in middle school. They were fast friends & spent a majority of their secondary school days glued at the hip. During college, both Ashley & Amanda were varsity athletes at their separate universities. Due to their busy schedules, they saw little of each other but were able to support each other from afar. After graduation, they moved in together in Amanda’s college town. Most of their time was spent watching football or hockey, eating Jimmy John’s subs, & frequenting the local bars with the rowing team alumni. Today, Amanda is a social studies teacher at their old high school & continues her passion for history outside of the classroom by being an active member of the American history re-enacting community (for multiple eras) nationwide.
Bridesmaid
Abby & Ashley met during their first year at Albion College as newbies on the cross country team. Ashley was much more of a newbie than Abby; Abby ran for an All-State program in high school & Ashley had decided to try out cross country so she wouldn’t gain the “freshman 15” in her off-season before track. They quickly found their stride together, making great partners in & out of running shoes. Both had dreams of careers in medicine, loved the outdoors & also loved a good beer. They lived together, worked in a research lab together, & were captains of the cross country team together. Today, Abby is a MD practicing family med. They still share a love for the outdoors (except Abby likes hers a little more snowy than Ashley) & are excited to share a good beer the next time they are reunited.
Bridesmaid
Megan & Ashley became friends during high school. Before then, they had known each other but were more of acquaintances. During their junior year, the ladies had almost all of their classes together & sat next to each other in each one. Spending that much time together will either lead to annoyance or a strong bond!... luckily it was the latter. Both Megan & Ashley were interested in science and, despite going to separate universities, they continued the pattern of taking the same classes all the way through graduate school & also developed a strong passion for fighting all different types of injustice. Both are now Physician Assistants with emphasis on women’s health. Megan has two sweet doggos & a koi pond at her house that Ashley loves to feed on every visit.
Junior Bridesmaid
Mae has had a very special place in Ashley’s heart since the day she was born. She is bright and silly and reminds Ashley that no matter what is going on in our lives, good or bad, it’s easier to meet with a smile. Over the years, the two have enjoyed swimming together, playing board games, and spending time outdoors at the family cabin.
Best Man
Being Fraser’s brother, Ruairi was a natural choice for best man. The two grew up loving the same things, but mainly the outdoors (despite the constant Scottish drizzle). Ruairi was Fraser’s first golf partner. They also enjoyed biking through the neighborhood together and exploring the nearby woods. Despite living across an ocean from each other, they are still as thick as thieves and cannot wait to be reunited in person again.
Groomsman
Fraser and Sean met on the Lynn University golf team during Fraser’s first year. After they both finished school, Sean and Fraser both found themselves looking for a roommate and have lived together off and on until Ashley and Fraser got married. They bonded over their love of a good cocktail, bucatini carbonara, and watching David Attenborough nature specials on Netflix. Sean still lives in South Florida with his golden retriever, Woods (named after Tiger), and his girlfriend, Brooke.
Groomsman
Fraser and Paul both played golf as children in Scotland, however, they did not meet until university at Lynn. The two spent a lot of time together in college due to being teammates and their friendship with Meghan, who is now Paul’s wife. Before Fraser left Florida, the three enjoyed dinner parties at the McPhees and playing with Paul and Megan’s daughter, Ava.
Groomsman
Fraser and Josh met at Lynn University, where they were teammates on the golf team and roommates. They bonded over their mutual interest in finance and roasting Sean. Josh eventually left South Florida to move back to his home in New Jersey, but always has invited Fraser up every year for his mother’s famous Thanksgiving dinners.
Groomsman
Like all of the other groomsmen, Danny and Fraser met through golf at Lynn University. Also being from Scotland, Fraser and Danny had a lot in common and remained friends after college, despite Danny moving back home. Today, Danny plays golf professionally and Fraser cheers him on from the states!
