Sisters stick together! Arianne is Mahalia’s younger sister by 4 years but growing up being out numbered by brothers helps form a bond no one can break! Arianne is wonderful blend of originality and inclusivity. She definitely dances to the beat of her own drum with confidence and creativity but she will make sure others can jump in and enjoy the music. Arianne has taught Mahalia (patience when she was younger lol) the importance of simplicity and truth do not have to be absent in a life of color and adventure.
Lauren McGinniss
Matron of Honor
Lauren and Mahalia knew each other in passing from growing up in the homeschool community but reconnected as young adults right before 2020 and became inseparable after their first met up. They became travel buddies and even roommates for a while. Lauren married Satchel McGinniss (one of the OG’s of the friend group) in 2022 and the two of them currently live in a converted mini bus. Lauren has encouraged Mahalia to embrace life and challenge with confidence and has shown her time and time again that sometimes you figure things out as you go.
Tiffani Weckerly

Tiffani is Mahalia’s oldest friendship! Next door homeschool neighbors for the first 10+ years of their lives has made for many embarrassing “recess” stories from their childhoods. Tiffani has moved around several times in her adult years but has consistently made very intentional efforts to stay connected to Mahalia. Closer than ever, Mahalia and Tiffani both will be standing beside each other this year at each other’s weddings! Tiffani has shown Mahalia what resilience looks like, as she persuaded professional dancing and Christ in a challenging environment.
Taylor Mock
Bridesmaid
Taylor moved to Nashville in 2021 and within two weeks bumped into Mahalia at a dance hall. The two quickly connected over being passionate women and individual thinkers. Taylor is a top tier E.R. Nurse (so y’all bust your moves on the dance floor, we got medical back up lol) She has a burning desire for truth and authenticity which Mahalia gravitates towards. Taylor’s energy and enthusiasm has lead to quite the entertaining friendship pairing! Taylor has been one of Mahalia’s roommates for 2 years which has lead to many deep late night conversations about Christ, conflict, and relationships which has sharpened Mahalia’s live for the better.

Josue will be the Best Man to the Groom. Beyond his role in the wedding party, Josue is known for his unwavering dedication to his loved ones and his relentless pursuit of excellence in all endeavors. A pillar of strength and reliability, Josue’s genuine nature and kind-hearted soul have left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. As the eldest of four siblings, he carries a sense of responsibility and leadership that shines through in his every action. Josue’s presence adds warmth and joy to any occasion.
