We decided we wanted our wedding ceremony to reflect the themes and messages we see in the bible and through Christ as our example. Ariel walking last was our way of reminding ourselves that it is the bride's job to faithfully wait on her groom, just as the church is called to wait on Christ and his return.
This was one of those ideas that God planted in both of us separately. Before we even got engaged it was getting set in motion as part of our love story. (although Mahalia will be the first to admit it made planning really hard on top trying to plan a full wedding in 3 months) Again we wanted to make our wedding about more than just us. We decided to separate so we could directly acknowledge that God alone is who sustains us. He is the one who gives us life and the ability to love! (Plus distance makes the heart grow stronger!) The planning and anticipation of the separation, the separation dinner, the emotions splitting up, the 10 days that were so eventfully and crazy while we were apart, and the most electrifying feeling walking towards the alter knowing we were about to be united as one was truly an experience we will be forever grateful for :)
We are in a cute duplex in Hermitage, TN That has a yard that keep Marilyn (the dog) happy :D
Yes, we did! We left a couple of days after the wedding to spend 9 days in Peru! We had a great time, check out our photos to see more! Did some climbing, saw Machu Picchu, and ate a lot of good food!
10000% YES! Thanks again to all our guests who came out and for those who couldn't make it know you were missed!!! The Lord was so gracious with us through the whole wedding planning process and didn't leave us strained on the day from crazy storms that avoided our venue, to the bugs and heat being mild, and so many of our family and friends being able to make core memories with us it was a magical day!
