Wedding Party

Brian Rosen

Best Man

Spencer and Brian met in preschool and have been friends ever since. The memories from over the years are far too numerous to list—manhunt, pool parties, ski trips, BBYO, and endless sleepovers only begin to scratch the surface. Nearly all of Spencer's good memories of having fun growing up involve Brian in some way. Spencer is honored that Brian is his Best Man.

Sarah Starr

Maid of Honor

Owing to the fact that they're sisters, Ariel has been in Sarah's life since the beginning. And though they didn't always get along as kids, they have grown incredibly close as adults. Growing up together, the memories are endless. There was the time Ariel accidentally pulled Sarah's tooth out with a cat's cradle string...which some say Sarah is still mad about. Then there was the time when, in the midst of a sleepwalk, Sarah ended up in bed on top of Ariel...and somehow neither of them woke up. Sarah is Ariel's darling ukelele, and Ariel is honored to have Sarah as her Maid of Honor.

Ross Aroyo

Groomsman

Spencer and Ross met when they attended East Brunswick AZA meetings in high school. Though Ross is two years younger than Spencer, his outsized personality was impossible to ignore and he became part of the group. Some people even credit Ross for getting the entire friend group hooked on ultimate frisbee. Like Spencer, Ross also attended the University of Maryland.

Tami Greenberg

Bridesmaid

Ariel and Tami have been friends since kindergarten when Tami moved to Michigan. The two became fast friends, not knowing their parents had known each other, too! From Girl Scout meetings to sleepovers, to Black Friday shopping all night, you could say these two are inseparable. Ariel and Tami also went on a Birthright trip to Israel in 2014, and rode a camel which they aptly named Mordechai. Tami moved to Israel shortly after this trip, making her the furthest traveled attendee!

Dave Ellner

Groomsman

Spencer and Dave first met on a teen tour in 2005 when Spencer was in 8th grade and Dave in 7th. Despite hitting it off, they subsequently lost touch. It wasn't until they were in AZA together two years later that they reconnected and became friends. Through the years, Spencer and Dave have bonded over a mutual love of the Devils and low-quality Chinese food, and they even once went into business together as professional tour guides.

Debbie May

Bridesmaid

Debbie and Ariel met at Central Michigan University where the two were active in the Hillel group on campus. Even though they have no memory of when their friendship began, they remember midnight trips to the only grocery store in Mt. Pleasant and breaking Passover with a fast-food feast. Ariel stood up at Debbie's wedding in 2020 and is happy that Debbie can do the same for her.

Jay Vogel

Groomsman

Spencer and Jay first came across each others' radar in Mrs. Petruniak's 8th grade history class. Jay had just given a presentation about murder and the death penalty and was taking questions from the room. Spencer proceeded to smugly ask a question about what would happen if somebody accidentally killed another person, thinking that there was no way Jay knew the difference between murder and manslaughter. Much to his surprise, Jay DID know the difference, putting Spencer in his place. Fast forward two years and Spencer and Jay had several more classes together. From there, they became fast friends, bonding over a mutual love of hockey and obscure movie references.

Melanie Levine

Bridesmaid

Ariellie and Mellie grew up across the street from each other. As kids, they used to color together, and one time hid from Sarah behind Ariel's bed, making it so that the parents didn't know whose house they were at. As they grew up, Melanie would drive Ariel to school every day. The two frequently went on walks around the neighborhood to talk about crushes and such. Ariel was also a bridesmaid in Melanie's wedding in 2016 and is thrilled that Melanie can return the favor.

Scott Kornberg

Groomsman

Spencer and Scott met at college orientation at the University of Maryland. Spencer was immediately struck by Scott's passion for sports and for pursuing a career in sports media. Though they were friendly freshman year, it wasn't until they became roommates sophomore year that the friendship was really cemented. Scott took to calling Spencer "George" after George Costanza, a nickname that somehow stuck. Spencer was also a groomsman in Scott's wedding in 2019 and is thrilled Scott is returning the favor.

Dayna Starr

Bridesmaid

Dayna is Ariel's younger sister of 12 years, though the age difference has only made them closer. Ariel loved playing with Dayna as a child and often went to the park together, where Ariel would swing and Dayna would inevitably always find another kid to play with. There were times when the age gap wasn't always great - Dayna would often get mistaken for Ariel's daughter! One time, Ariel was picking up a police report from a hit and run (a story for another day) and the clerk wished Ariel a happy Mother's Day. They still laugh about that today.

Jeff Rosen

Groomsman

Spencer and Jeff have been friends as long as they can remember, having met as campers at Mill Road Day Camp. Through the years Jeff and Spencer remained friends and had many classes together growing up. In high school, During their sophomore year of high school, Spencer dragged Jeff to an AZA meeting, which would lead to the two becoming much closer.

Elana Pentelnik

Bridesmaid

Though Elana and Ariel are technically cousins, Elana is more like the older sister Ariel never had. They would have sleepovers at their Grams' house whenever Elana and her family would come to town, and would talk through the night until inevitably falling asleep from laughing too hard. They remained close as they grew up and moved to different towns (or countries!), and have fond memories of Elana showing Ariel around her new home in Chicago.
