FAQ

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP no later than December 15th.

Question

Are you registered?

Answer

Yes! Please refer to the "Registry" tab above. We kindly request no boxed gifts. Alternatively, there will be an envelope box provided at the venue.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The start and end times are provided on your RSVP in the tab above. Please be sure to check for traffic ahead of your departure and arrive promptly; we wouldn't want you missing beautiful moments in the itinerary or a chance at some tasty appetizers!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

February in Northeast America can be relatively cold. You can except temperatures between 30-45°F (-1-8°C). However, all events will take place indoors.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Women: South Asian formal wear (lehenga choli, salwar kameez, ghararas, shararas, etc.) or Western formal wear (cocktail dress, evening gown, etc.). Men: Western formal wear (black tie optional). Color suggestions and other details are provided on your individual RSVPs; input your name into the "RSVP" tab above to find your information. For female guests who are not South Asian and are looking to wear a beautiful saree, lehenga, or salwar kameez for the event, we recommend purchasing from https://www.lashkaraa.com/. Please be sure to purchase your clothing at least 2-3 months in advance to allow for shipping time and any necessary tailoring adjustments. And please be aware that this wedding will take place during colder months. If you have any more questions about this style of dress, please contact Maheen Mohammad, the Matron of Honor, at 732-986-0265. Red is the traditional bridal color for South Asian brides, so we kindly request that guests refrain from wearing red.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

This is already noted in your RSVP, but if you have any questions you can speak to Maheen Mohammad, the Matron of Honor, directly at 732-986-0265.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, we’ve decided to keep our wedding an adults-only celebration. We hope you can enjoy a special evening with us!

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Indoors entirely so we can all stay warm!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We recommend staying at an AirBnb or hotel in the central Jersey area: Princeton, New Brunswick, Edison, Somerset, Woodbridge, Bridgewater, South Brunswick, North Brunswick, East Brunswick, Hillsborough, Franklin Township, Old Bridge, or Metuchen. If you do not wish to stay at these locations, please contact the Matron of Honor directly at 732-986-0265 for suggestions.

Question

What are the closest airports to the wedding venue?

Answer

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). You can also fly in from JFK or LaGuardia in New York City, but you would require a rental car or a ride sharing service like Uber/Lyft to reach your accommodations or the venues.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Don't worry! There will be plenty of parking space for your cars.

Question

What's the menu?

Answer

Food will be provided buffet-style and feature popular halal Indo-Chinese and traditional Pakistani dishes. There will be meat and non-meat options, as well as soft drinks, chai, coffee, and desserts. In observance of our faith and tradition, please note that this will be an alcohol-free wedding event.
