WELCOME DRINKS: This really is a casual event. Wear whatever you want. We have the pool area closed off for us, so feel free to wear a swimsuit and go splashing around. CEREMONY ON THE BEACH: We ask that our guests wear light colours: whites, beiges, pastels, etc. Antony and Kevin will be wearing slightly darker suits. Want to wear a white dress? Please do! Nice button-up shirts, blouses, slacks, dresses/skirts, and trousers or tasteful shorts (we mean TASTEFUL, no swimshorts or anything like that) are permitted. Remember, it'll be hot, so don't wear anything too heavy. Here's a pinterest board with outfit ideas: https://www.pinterest.de/kevin_enright/beach-wedding-outfit-inspiration-for-guests/ Anyone who wears flip-flops to the ceremony will be banned for life from all Marriott properties. It's in our wedding contract. If you want to change after the ceremony for dinner, you may, though it's not mandatory. For the afterparty, outfit changes are encouraged (but also not mandatory). Feel free to wear your best rave clothes. The afterparty will be inside where there's air conditioning.
Look, this is a destination wedding. It's already asking a lot. So instead of gifts, we'd much rather you spend the money on getting yourself here. Gifts are not required or expected. If you're really dying to make a contribution, then reach out to us directly. And seriously, do not bring physical gifts to Phuket. Our luggage is already overweight.
It's tough to pick a location when you're from two different continents and live on a third. No matter where we get married, people will have to travel. So we figured, why not do it somewhere nice? Also, Antony's grandmother was from Phuket, and he's loved Thailand for much longer than he's loved Kevin.
We visited Phuket in February 2023 to scout out locations. As part of that trip, we stayed at the Westin for 3 nights and had a wonderful time: great food, lovely views, and staff that went above and beyond. Side note: while we stayed there, we noticed a ton of camera crews. It turns out they were filming a British reality TV show called The Only Way is Essex, which was described by the Guardian as "the worst thing on TV ever."
We're covering the nights of March 30th and 31st for our guests. The Westin is offering discounted rates for wedding guests who want to stay extra nights, up to 3 nights before and after. Please reach out to us directly if you'd like to reserve extra nights. Breakfast the next morning is covered for all guests, including any extra nights. Check in starts at 3pm, and check out is at 12. If you'd like to check in early, please contact the Westin directly at reservations.siraybay@westin.com.
You can visit visa-free for up to 30 days (when entering Thailand by air) if you're a citizen of Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, the United States, and more (check https://www.thaiembassy.com/thailand-visa/thai-visa-exemption-and-bilateral-agreement for the full list).
Sunscreen. The sun in Thailand is way more dangerous than in Europe. Case in point: Antony can play volleyball outdoors for 5 hours on a Berlin summer day and not get sunburned. But 30 minutes outdoors in Thailand, in overcast weather, and he gets burned. Kevin, meanwhile, would probably get burned in 30 seconds. Protect your precious skin. Also, bug repellent. Phuket's got lots of cute little bugs who want to drink your blood.
No, he monopolizes enough of our lives.
Yes. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
