Question

What should we wear?

Answer

It’s the summer in Jackson and we are getting married at a ranch. That being said, we still want everyone to look nice and appropriate for a wedding! Stilettos/heels won’t be the best idea! Wear something that you won’t overheat in (but is still classy), and something you’re comfortable in to dance the night away (like I said, no need for heels)! Also please note that once the sun goes down, we can have a temperature drop of about 40 degrees. You will probably want a layer of some kind if you plan on staying after the sun goes down!

Question

What should we do to prepare for our travels out west?

Answer

For those of you coming from sea level, you are coming up to 6,000 ft in elevation! This elevation can have a major affect on your hydration. I recommend pushing the water intake before you leave and the entire time you are here! We are all pretty familiar with how much alcohol it takes for us to feel like we can let loose on the dance floor, but PLEASE KNOW: alcohol will affect you much quicker here at altitude than at sea level, make sure you are hydrating with water in between beverages of your choosing! ALSO, when the sun goes down, it doesn't remain the warm afternoon temperature it was during the day. It can drop about 30-40 degrees or more at night. That means: bring layers! Summer dresses and t shirts are cute until it's 50 degrees at night!

Question

I heard there is a camping site at the wedding venue?

Answer

Why, yes you did! At Linn Canyon Ranch there is a grassy field behind the venue where people can set up tents and campers (no power hookups) to stay right behind the venue! That way there is no need for getting in your car and driving at all! We are dog lovers ourselves, but we are going to set a no dog at the ceremony and reception site rule. They can absolutely take comfort in your camper or cars, but we want to respect everyone's wishes to enjoy the night if dogs are not their thing. Think little children running around everywhere... If you do want to sleep outdoors, you’ll be able to arrive at the venue one hour before the ceremony to set up!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

If you are camping, it is best you arrive at the ranch at 3pm. If you’re not planning on setting up a tent or camper, you can arrive between 3 - 3:45. There will be refreshments at the ceremony site, so don't be afraid to arrive early! Wedding starts at 4 - prepare for walking about 5 minutes to the ceremony site!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Our delightful wedding chef makes gluten and dairy free options with all her meals! If you have any other allergies, let us know!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

There is free parking at the venue and lots of it. However, we do not want anyone drinking and driving. We are going to be providing our own taxis (think of them as your individual uber driver). You and, preferably, a group of people can get together and have our drivers drop you off at your house/air b and b/hotel when you are ready to head home.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

In terms of which side of the Tetons to stay on, most of our wedding festivities are going to be on the Idaho side. When looking for a place to stay, Airbnb, home away or VRBO will probably be the best option from groups staying together. There are also some small hotels in Victor and Driggs that are available if you are looking for something more traditional. However, more of our favorite activities are going to be surrounding Jackson proper. There are many more hotels available in Jackson. It is completely up to you for where you would like to stay! Just make sure you are prepared to travel the distances needed!
