This will not be new for many invited to our special day, but for those of you who don’t know, here's the story of Gordon and Annika. In a bit of a round about way - we met in college. Going to school and playing sports for the same hometown, you would think our paths would have crossed sooner. We both remember things that we knew about each other during our high school years; Gordon, the state champion skier with his picture in the paper every week boasting a new accomplishment and Annika, the state champion soccer player headlining football and basketball events with her national anthem pipes. Not until we found out that we were both going to the same college did we make a connection online. We swapped phone numbers and chatted via text, but never met. Once at St.Olaf, we finally crossed paths and said our first hellos. Our respective groups of friends quickly became close and we spent time together on the weekends. As luck would have it, we shared two classes freshman year and often traveled home for the major holidays at the same time. We got to know each other well, and come the spring of our freshman year, we had a memorable night where we shared our first kiss. After that, we were inseparable. Summers home from school were such a treat; spending time learning about ourselves and growing together. We separately traveled abroad, broadened our horizons, and graduated with goals and aspirations. After college, we spent two years in a long distance relationship. We traveled to each other each month, trying to spend as much time together as possible. After those two years, we felt like we wanted to take the next step and move in together, and Annika wanted to move back to the mountains. Three years later, we went on a hike and Gordon asked Annika to marry him. Of course, Annika said yes, and here we are planning a wedding. To think we started in 2010 - it will to be amazing to see where our story takes us. Thank you to everyone for your love and support!
