If you're comfortable with public transit and don't plan to venture outside of DC proper, you likely won't need a car. Be ready to walk; pack good walking shoes! Scooters, bikes, and e-bikes are available to rent via apps everywhere. If you want to hit the suburbs, you'll probably need a car. We recommend only renting for the time you need it. Parking is not always accessible, and the cost to park can easily be more than the cost to rent.
