Kelsey Museum of Archaeology and University of Michigan Museum of Art
Explore one or both museums right across the street from each other in the heart of campus. The Kelsey museum houses over 100,000 artifacts and supports teaching of Classical, Egyptian, and Near Eastern archaeology. The University of Michigan Museum of Art hosts one of the oldest art collections in university hands. Explore a dynamic schedule of exhibitions and programs highlighting the legacy of the past and today’s Avant Garde.
Michigan Theater
If you’re interested in catching an independent movie or live event, check out the historic Michigan Theatre in the heart of Michigan off campus district. Originally opened in 1928, the Theatre is home to the Ann Arbor Film Festival, the Ann Arbor Symphony and the Ann Arbor Concert band. For additional movie selections, check out the sister theatre the State Theatre on the heart of State Street.
Nichols Arboretum
Nicknamed “The Arb” this is one of the richest landscapes in the region, with exotic trees & shrubs, panoramas and valleys. Perfect for a quick walk, or run, or for a long afternoon in the park. For a special treat stop by the Matthaei Botanical Gardens for a special collection of gardens.
Kayak or Canoe on the Huron River
Enjoy the summer weather in a kayak, canoe or tube on a couple mile trip down the Huron River. (opens on Memorial Day weekend)
