Andrew and Kara met, as they like to say, "the old fashioned way" in New York City. Andrew came to Kara's apartment for a friendsgiving, and Kara was immediately smitten. The second time they met, Kara turned on the charm and Andrew caught the hint. They were basically in a long distance relationship, living on opposite ends of NYC in equally inconvenient apartments. Nevertheless, their love grew quickly through their shared birthdate (yes it is, in fact, very weird), love of Parks and Rec, game nights, and peanut butter everything. Eventually, their little family grew by one with the addition of Ollie, their beagle mix who loves and is loved by all. Things got much more exciting when they moved to Baltimore, sharing an apartment big enough for Kara's cooking, Andrew's Lego, and Ollie's tennis balls. After an intense period of work travel and barely seeing each other for months at a time, the pandemic hit and dramatically shifted them to co-workers, roommates, and fiancees! Funny how a global disaster would end up bringing them closer than ever. Now with their own little home to call their own, they're ready to make it official! Andrew loves Kara's enthusiasm for adventure and travel, her desire to help people through her public health work, and especially her cooking (really, it's very good). Kara loves Andrew's thoughtfulness for everyone in his life and how he is her perfect teammate in all things. Here's hoping this wedding will be a chance for them to share their love with everyone they care about the most!
