Our Story

In September 2016, Andrew and Kelly were both attending seminary at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. At the opening convocation, Kelly was looking to meet a nice young man, so she sat down next to the tallest guy in the room. About a week later, they decided to meet up for coffee. It was then that they both realized they wanted to pursue things further. They decided to go on a long hike in the White Mountains, which Kelly had decided was an important test for her future spouse. Could Andrew keep up with her? Andrew, former Marine officer, passed with flying colors and they started officially dating soon afterward. Andrew and Kelly connected over their shared faith and passions, playfulness, competitiveness, and vision for the future. They continued building their friendship over the next year, including Kelly joining Andrew's family for Thanksgiving (very early in their relationship according to Kelly), New Year's, and several times throughout the year. Andrew also spent about three weeks in the Southwest last summer visiting Kelly's family and joining them on many outdoor adventures including rafting down the San Juan River, hiking down the Grand Canyon, mountain biking in Colorado, and beating Kelly's family at most of their family games. This fall, Andrew proposed to Kelly at the ocean through a game that he had created to remember the great moments this past year that they have shared together. Both Andrew and Kelly are so grateful to God for bringing them together and the many adventures to come!
