If you've never been to Meow Wolf, we highly recommend going. It's great for kids and adults alike!
City Park
City Park is just outside of downtown Denver and is a great place to take a nice stroll and a picnic. It also contains the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. It has tennis courts, playgrounds, picnic sites, and a lake. During the summer, there are concerts and festivals around the pavilion.
Denver Botanic Gardens
The Denver Botanic Gardens is a beautiful place to pass some time. Make sure to check their opening hours when planning your visit - they close most days by early afternoon. See their website for ticket details.
Denver Museum of Nature & Science
The Denver Museum for Nature and Science is a great place for children and adults! Note that it has timed tickets for entry, so ensure you reserve your tickets online ahead of time. The museum is located within City Park.
Denver Art Museum
Located in downtown Denver near the capitol building.
Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre
Red Rocks is a great place for an early morning hike or a nighttime concert. It's 30 minutes west of downtown Denver.
Children's Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus
Located in downtown Denver near Union Station.
16th Street Mall
The 16th Street Mall is located in downtown Denver. It is over a mile of shops and restaurants, and often has concerts and festivals during the summer. There is a free shuttle that goes end to end.
Rocky Mountain National Park
Even if you don't hike, a visit to the Rocky Mountains is still breathtaking. There are a few roads that cut through the park with pull off spots to get out and enjoy the view and take pictures. Larimer Square is a great place for shopping and food.
Stanley Marketplace
Stanley Marketplace is an open marketplace with over 50 independently-owned Colorado businesses where you can eat, drink, and shop. Located 30 minutes east of downtown Denver.
Hapa Sushi Grill and Sake Bar
Hapa Sushi is a great sushi restaurant with fresh seafood and unique rolls. This location is situated in the Cherry Creek neighborhood, but there are several locations, including one downtown.
Pearl Street Mall
Pearl Street Mall is a great place for shopping and food while visiting Boulder. Boulder is a 40 minute drive northwest of downtown Denver.
Breckenridge
Breckenridge is another ski town located a bit closer to Denver - it's an hour and a half drive from downtown.
Vail
If you would like to drive further into the mountains, Vail is a ski resort town located an hour and forty-five minutes west of downtown Denver. The town has hiking, golf, and festivals during the summer - see their website for details.
