Train
The 1 line runs from the airport directly into the city. This is a great option for our guests who will not be renting a car. Even if you are renting a car it can be nice to use for travel around the city. You can buy a one-time use ticket at kiosks at all stations or you can use an Orca Card or the Transit Go Ticket App and upload money through the app.
Travel Note
Seattle has an accessible public transportation system. The easiest way to use this service is by getting an Orca card so we highly suggest it. You can get an Orca card through Google Pay if you have an Android (unfortunately they don't have it for Apple Pay), or through purchase on their website. After you receive the card, you can download the app to upload money onto it. This card can be used by tap to pay for pretty much any form of public transportation, including the light rail, ferries, buses, etc. If you don't want to buy an Orca card, you can also download the Transit Go Ticket App. (https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/metro/fares-and-payment/ways-to-pay/transit-go-ticket). You will just have to purchase a ticket on the app before every ride. Alternatively, you can use cash on any of the public transportation. As far as U.S. cities go, the public transportation here is decent. You can most definitely go the entire weekend without any ubers or rental cars. The public transportation and the shuttle service will be more than enough to get around.
