It all started when we met in Architecture school at North Dakota State University back in 2017! Our classes were two years apart, but what brought us together was our professors that were married and occasionally hosted joint studio sessions. This gave us the opportunity to sit in on each other's presentations, critique each other's projects, and for Dylan to shoot his shot in asking the “cute girl across studio” out for the first time. Amy may have rejected him once or twice...... Dylan was persistent and patient, so after the third time she decided to give him a chance and the rest is history! We currently live in St. Paul, Minnesota with our two ragdoll cats, Mocha & Java, and love spending time with our friends and family, cooking, enjoying all of the coffee, cocktail, and brewery spots in the area, traveling, the great outdoors, and of course working our Architecture jobs in the Twin Cities.

Perhaps the trickiest part of getting engaged abroad is transporting the ring safely and discretely. 4 flights, 3 countries, tens of trains, multiple boat rides, numerous security checks, and one (awful) bout of food poisoning later, we arrived in Lake Como. One of the last days there featured a fun "photo-shoot" as an experience together since we had never done one before. Little did Amy know, the entire trip was planned around this very moment. She may have had suspicions, but as the shoot progressed, it seemed like the moment was but a dream. As the sun set over the mountains, so did Dylan as he pistol squatted on a knee to find a surprised Amy! Despite the well-prepared speech, the only words Amy heard were "Marry me??" (she blacked out in awe and had to ask afterward what he said). Amy said, "YES, of course!" (or Si certo! in Italian) and here we are, ready to make it official on September 23rd, 2023 with all of our favorite people to celebrate!
