A Quaker ceremony is a self-uniting ceremony where we marry eachother in the presence of God and our community, there is no officiant. Our marriage committee will be present to explain the ceremony for anyone who's never seen one before. After the traditional procession down the aisle all present will settle into silence. The couple will rise and say their vows when lead together. It is then expected that guests will rise and speak out of the silence sharing a message about the couple. This can be a story, a prayer, well wishes, etc. You should not rehearse this speech, it is believed in this sacred space the voice of God is speaking through you to deliver this spiritual message. The ceremony is then done, and all guests will sign the marriage certificate. This certifies that they were present to bare witness to the marriage. Thank you for being so kind as to give us a gift. We own a sweet small house together full of things we love, and many additional things. We feel we have our lives to collect things, and at this time would prefer to have an incredible adventure together. Please instead consider donating to our honeymoon fund. Thank you.
