6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Summertime Semiformal (Indian or Western attire - whichever you prefer!)
Appetizers, snacks, and cocktails will be provided. There will be a range of Western and Indian light bites. At the start of this event, we will be signing our Jewish Ketubah, or marriage contract. We would love to have our guests bear witness to this age-old Jewish tradition. To our Jewish guests, reach out if you'd like to be part of the minyan! Come prepared for lots of dancing! To guests staying at hotels in Oak Brook, please contact us and we can work to coordinate rides to and from Sangeet. Check the Helpful Info section for our contact email.
10:00 am - 12:30 pm
This event is within a gurudwara, which has attire restrictions; please be respectful. Shoes must be left in the lobby and heads must be covered. You are welcome to bring a light scarf to wear on head, but head coverings for both women and men will be provided. Please dress modestly; check the Helpful Info tab for more details on attire, and feel free to reach out with any attire questions!
To our English-speaking guests, there will be a real-time screen translation of the ceremony. Lunch will be provided after the ceremony, and it is traditionally vegetarian. Guests of the service will sit on the floor unless mobility precludes them; at langar, there will be chairs. Please reach out to our wedding email, which you can find under Helpful Info, for seating accommodations, as we will be happy to help.
5:30 pm - 11:30 pm
Indian, Indowestern, and Western attire are all welcome! We appreciate that you do not wear red or white to our reception to not clash with either culture's bridal colour!
Cocktail hour begins at 5:30 p.m., with reception to follow. The food and drinks will be freely flowing all night! Catering will be a mixture of Western and Indian foods, but please email us with any food questions or concerns. Most of all, come prepared to PARTY!
