We advise guests from the US to book departing flights that leave no later than Thurs afternoon or early evening, Sept 19th.
We recommend beginning your flight search & booking process early. Several travel publications recommend booking flights from 6-8 months out, so it may be wise to set up price notifications for specific departing flights later this year.
Flight
to Italy
• In general, the most affordable airports to fly into from the US are Rome (FCO) & Milan (MXP) • There are flights available to Pisa (PSZ) & Florence (FLR), which are closer to Villa Petriolo, but will be more expensive.
Train
to Villa Petriolo
• All airports mentioned have train service to San Miniato, which is the town closest to the Villa (15 min cab ride or drive), and can be booked through TrenItalia. • Cabs should be available outside the San Miniato station, but for larger parties the Villa can arrange shuttle service. We will be in touch with guests to arrange this.
Rental Car

• We had a great time driving in Italy this Summer - it's safe & easy with GPS! All airports have car rental from major providers (Avis, Hertz).
