Amber and Brian met in 2020 on Bumble. Amber swiped right on Brian due to his love of Stephen King, and his love of motorcycles. There was also a photo of a Christmas tree, and then a child’s hand putting an ornament on the tree. Brian’s profile said that he was a dad, so that hand must have been his child’s hand. This communicated to Amber that he was not just a dad, but a good dad. He did not show his child, but showed that he did things with his child. It looked promising that Brian would be a good time. She may have been catfishing him, but he figured he would take the risk. Amber started the conversation with Brian. Amber was pleasantly surprised by the conversations. Soon, Amber and Brian began texting that led to phone calls. This went on for weeks until they decided to video chat. Keep in mind, Brian was not too sure what Amber looked like, he was willing to take that chance. Brian was not catfished. After seeing Brian on video, Amber was hooked. He was even cuter on video than he was in his profile pictures. Brian asked Amber to go out to dinner with him at Juniper Valley Ranch but the world had other plans, Covid19 swept the world. Amber and Brian may never meet. So, on one random day Amber decided to text Brian, and invite him on a hike. Now this could have turned into a very scary situation for Brian. This woman, that he barely knew that he met online invited him to go on a hike in the mountains. We were all going to die from the plague anyways, so why not? So again, Brian took the chance and said “yes” to meeting this woman in the mountains. Brian did not become one of the scenarios of the murder mysteries that Amber is obsessed with. Instead, there were butterflies. The hike turned into lunch, and lunch turned into dessert. They parted ways but could not wait to see each other again. Amber and Brian did finally go on their first official date about three months later. They went to Juniper Valley Ranch. Amber and Brian had only known each other for a few months when Brian asked Amber to a wedding of his cousin’s. At the wedding Brian’s cousin mistook Amber for being Brian’s fiancé. Shortly after the wedding Brian would make remarks about “when we get married”, and Amber would roll her eyes and correct him by saying “if”. Brian knew. He always knew. Although, Brian always spoke about marrying Amber, Amber never believed that Brian would actually propose. They went through so much to try to be together. Blending lives, kids, families, homes, animals. None of it was easy. In fact, there were many times that it seemed to be impossible. But then Amber started getting a feeling that Brian may actually propose. Amber would dream of some big grand public proposal, but the reality is, that she is not that type of girl. So, Brian cancelled his original plan. That plan no longer matters because that is not how it went. Brian had a regular dinner like any other with Amber one night. After dinner, he asked for a haircut like he would every two weeks since Covid had started, and Brian could no longer go to his barber. So, Amber cut his hair as she always had. Brian swept the floor as he always had. But this time, he got down on one knee, and said some words, and held a box, and neither of them can recall what those words were, but the answer was “yes”. Amber has always been cautious. Brian always lives like the end of the world is coming, and he is going to live life to the fullest while he is here. That is what Amber has needed her entire life. Brian has taught Amber to take the scariest chances traveling during a pandemic, ziplining, roller coasters where Brian had control of the breaks, buying a home and Amber meeting her father and brother for the first time ever. Every fear that Amber could have left in her, Brian helped her take the leaps by his words of encouragement, and his positive attitude that everything always works out perfectly. Amber said “YES” to have a good time for the rest of her life with Brian
