Our story started on a cold day in December.  Saima’s first impression: Amar was quiet and introverted, for some odd reason, I wanted to see what would bring him out of his shell. And that he was a total cutie. Amar’s first impression: I still remember the first time I saw my wife. I was immediately struck by her sparkling eyes, and a warm smile. But it was more that drew me to her. She had a kind and gentle spirit, and I could tell that she was someone special. We started talking, and I quickly realized that we had a lot in common. We both loved to travel, we both had a passion for learning, and we both had a dorkey sense of humor. We talked for hours that day, and I knew that I had found my person. On our first date, Amar took me to his favorite Mexican restaurant, Besitos, where he told me all about his love for food and I shared my love for desserts. We had a small blip on our journey when he told me he wasn’t a dessert person, but I knew that would have to change, and fast. We did our share of long distance dating between Cleveland, Washington, and New York, and to say it was easy would be a lie. At the end of the day, we knew we wanted to spend our lives together. As we expected, our parents were over the moon when we shared the news, and before we knew it, before I moved back to NYC, our parents set a date and a venue for our Nikkah (wedding ceremony). I moved back from Cleveland, Amar moved from DC, I started a new job, and within a week we were married. A lot of things happened in a short span of time; it was a whirlwind affair, and we are doing it all again. We can’t wait to have our family and friends with us to celebrate this important day. You are traveling from many countries and states, and we can’t thank you enough for your love, support, and presence at our wedding festivities. Amar and I are super excited for the fun to begin. Cheers- And as expected, I am happy to report that Amar has now become a dessert person. He doesn't know what his favorite is yet, but we are working on that next.
