The Mad River Valley Trail Network has outings for everyone, from 2 miles loops to 7 mile treks as well as full on day hikes (ever try Camel's Hump from the Duxbury side?!). Check out the link to find your own adventure!
For guests who want to see as much as possible, there are a number of scenic routes you can enjoy from your car, like the Mad River Byway. If you don't want to follow a map, go ahead and just drive! It's hard to go wrong in the Mad River Valley.
In 2020, Amara and Mike decided to be tourists in Vermont and spent one Saturday on an 8 hour drive seeing as many covered bridges as they could. The Full Monty tour 7 bridge tour is only clocked at an hour and fifteen minutes, but we recommend giving yourself extra time to eat lunch by a particularly cool bridge or to watch wildlife fly by. Ps. This date ended up being the one that determined Amara and Mike's anniversary. They see new bridges and other cool Vermont landmarks each year to celebrate.
Pro Pig is one of Amara's all time favorite restaurants. Enjoy dinner in the restaurant or head out back for a more laid back counter service meal.
Lawson's brewery is absolutely gorgeous and has many delightful snacks and beers. A great stop for your Mad River Valley brew tour!
Von Trapp brewery has a great beer list, disc golf, beer cheese pretzels, and a beautiful trail network that you can enjoy after or before your beverages (you will need to buy a day pass for trail access!).
If you want to venture out of Mad River Valley, Fiddlehead is a great stop to enjoy one of Vermont's most popular beers and wood fired pizza from Folino's next door.
A Burlington classic!
Zero Gravity's patio in the summertime is one of the popular spots to enjoy their wildly popular beers and incredible food from Great Northern.
Check out the original American Flatbread location- a delightful place to eat.
Check out Maxi's for a great breakfast and lunch. Amara's favorite is the veggie sandwich with sweet potato- yum!
