If you would have told me I would have met my best friend and future husband at a wedding in Montana I would have never believed you. I had traveled to Montana to watch my good friend Shelby, marry her now husband Anthony. When the ceremony started, I noticed a cute groomsman walk down the aisle and mentioned this to an acquaintance who was essentially my single girl partner in crime for the wedding weekend. Unbeknownst to me, she mentioned to another groomsman about my crush, and needless to say, word spread to Gabe. Word also spread to his entire family, who was also attending the wedding. With the encouragement of the other groomsman and some of his family members, Gabe approached me, and I became so nervous, I completely brushed him off and went to the other side of the wedding. I don't know what to say about this except that he is the only guy that has ever given me nervous butterflies like that, and I figured there was no point in conversing with this random fellow at a wedding in Montana - what was going to happen? It's not like I'd end up marrying the guy! :) Needless to say, he wasn't going to give up easily, and I'm so thankful he didn't despite me running away form him the whole night. The third time he approached me, he offered me Altoids to which my reply was, "what are you trying to say my breath stinks?" We talked for a little bit, said our goodbyes as the wedding ended, and went our separate ways. After I got back from the wedding I noticed Gabe in some of the wedding pictures that were posted online, so I started to "follow," him on Instagram. I then received a direct message from him that just had a picture of Altoids, and his phone number...and the rest is history. We did long distance from San Francisco to Ann Arbor for nine months before he moved out to California with me where we have been ever since. Every time I tell the story of how we met, it makes me smile, and I can't wait to marry this cute groomsmen that I met in Montana.
