Amanda & Colin met in spring 2016 through Colin's friend and Amanda's new roommate, Chelsea Cleary, in Flagstaff, Arizona. Chelsea invited Amanda to trivia one Wednesday night at Majerles in downtown Flagstaff. The gang went to trivia every Wednesday night for many months and Colin & Amanda grew as friends. It took Chelsea nudging Colin for him to ask Amanda out on a date to Bearizona, a drive thru zoo in Winslow, Arizona. After months of growing their friendship, Colin & Amanda became an "official" couple.
Amanda had a feeling a proposal was coming toward the end of 2020, but Colin made it his mission in life to throw her off and make it a complete surprise - and boy was he successful! They had been ring shopping in 2020 and Colin had an idea of what Amanda liked. Colin planned multiple dates in January and even made Amanda take a day off work for a weekend activity (and gave her no reason). She had a feeling he was going to pop the question the last weekend of January. Little did she know, Colin had the ring in his backpack the weekend prior to that when they took Tyler (the dog) on a walk at Sloan's Lake in Denver. As she handed Colin a bag of dog treats to put in his backpack, Colin pulled out a ring box, knelt down and asked Amanda to spend the rest of his life with her. Amanda "blacked out" momentarily, but said yes and then had to hold Tyler back from chasing all of the geese that immediately landed in the lake in front of them. They celebrated with lunch and drinks at Edgewater Public market and FaceTimed family and friends for the rest of the day. It was the perfect day and Amanda had no idea it was coming (the nail polish on Amanda's hands was proof of that and she immediately got a manicure the next day). Amanda & Colin, and fellow photographer friend Michaela Vidulich, went back to the same spot the next day and took pictures!
