How We Met

2018

I had just started my new college job at my grandparents favorite restaurant, Longhorn Steakhouse, as a server. J.D. was a foodrunner there, and we worked together for quite a while! A few of our co-workers edged us along to go out together, and I had to agree after overhearing him talking to his friend about how good looking he thought I was. I wasn’t so convinced after the first date, but after the second date, the rest is history!

Our First Date

February 19th, 2019

We went to BJ’s BrewHouse for dinner. It was our first time really interacting outside of work, and I always knew J.D. to be really timid and quiet, but also pretty funny. I don’t think that he stopped talking the entire couple of hours we spent together! We bonded over our love for scary movies, food, and talked about what we wanted our futures to look like, not having any idea it would be together with each other.

Our First Home

July 4th, 2021

This Independence Day was extra special for us. After lots of laughs, falling in love, endless nights staying up and eating whole pizzas, and raising two of the sweetest golden retrievers in our apartment, we decided to upgrade and we bought our first home! We put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into the crazy housing market, but it paid off. We now live in Lancaster, OH with our pups Oakley and Nash who love the big yard we gave them.

The Proposal

February 6th, 2022

We were actually supposed to go on this big trip to Las Vegas with my whole family to surprise my Gram for her 70th birthday. We got stuck in Ohio by a really bad storm, and couldn’t make it out. He had intentions on proposing to me there with my family around, and wasn’t able to. Thankfully, he was quick on his feet and thought of a plan that was just as meaningful and special! He took our dogs with him out to his dad’s family cabin to spend some time with his dad. He asked me to come out after I was finished with my afternoon of plans. I thought nothing of it, and drove out there, and when I got there the pond was frozen over and our dogs, Larry, and J.D. were running around jumping on the ice having the best time. I take lots of photos every time I go out there because I love the scenery, and it’s just so peaceful and beautiful there. His dad asked if he could snap some photos of us and the dogs on the dock, and I obliged. I had no idea that when Larry tipped his hat in signal to J.D.,he would get down on one knee and ask me to marry him on the ice. Of course I said YES! 🤍🍾
