Flight
Please arrange for your flight to land in Lihue Airport in Kauai, Hawaii. Most flights from the mainland have a layover in Honolulu, though it is possible to find direct flights. Flights from the mainland to Kauai can be anywhere from 5 to 10 hours, so make sure to pack a water bottle you can fill at the airport and wear comfortable clothing. We definitely encourage our guests to make a vacation out of this! Kauai is an incredible place with so much to see. You might even want to visit some of the other neighbor islands while you're here!
Hotel
9400 kaumualii highway, waimea, kauai, HI 96796 808-338-1625 We recommend staying at these traditional Hawaiian cottages just 5 minutes up the road from our wedding venue. They are the closest hotel accommodations on the island. Click "View" to see specially negotiated group rates for our wedding guests, including for Waimea Plantation Cottages. The rates above can fluctuate and sell out at any time, so please book sooner than later.
House Or Rental
If you are traveling with a large group or may be able to meet up our other guests to form a group, we recommend looking into splitting the cost of a vacation rental. Most require a minimum 3-night stay, but there are quite a few listed in Kekaha. You can find these listings on Airbnb, VRBO, HawaiiGaGa.com (most affordable), Parrish.com or kekahaoceansidekauai.com.
Travel Note
We might be able to help with a ride to and from the airport or a floor to crash on, but we won't be able to book things for you! With COVID severely affecting the normal flow of tourism in the past year, supply of everything from accommodations to rental cars has dropped. So even though we're a year away, we recommend securing accommodations and rentals as soon as possible.
Travel Note
If you can't find accommodation the night of the wedding or end up drinking and driving is unsafe, you're welcome to pitch a tent on the lawn at the Harbor House after the event is over and our vendors are done cleaning up. We will bring a couple of tents, but if you have your own, please bring it as an option if you think you might end up going this route. Space is limited and first-come, first-serve. There is no fee for camping here for this night only (6/11/22). A HUGE mahalo goes out to our amazing wedding planner, Marlene Mira, for allowing this!
