Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes. If not, we would prefer it if it were just you.

Question

What’s the dress code?

Answer

If you're comfortable, we're comfortable! Hawaii is HOT in the summer, so a black tux may not be the best unless you're okay with taking it off. If you need a theme to follow, we'll be going for a tropical bohemian look. We like earth tones – tan, auburn, sage, even a dusty pink or blue. Feel free to add some sparkle, florals or flare. But if those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight, let it all hang loose.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Given that this is a destination wedding for many, we are totally okay with you bringing your kids. But there will be drinking and partying! We'd be happy to help find a sitter if you want to have the night off. Reach out to us to reach out to our contacts to see if anyone is available.

Question

Is there a shuttle to and from the hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

We currently don't have a shuttle service available. We're looking into it and will update this page if we can find one, otherwise, we recommend looking into a rental car.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We are getting married on the west side of Kauai, where there is less lodging than other parts of the island. Since we don't have transportation set up, we would recommend looking into Airbnbs that are nearby (you can go in on one with some of the other guests to save money). Text us if you want us to try to connect you with other guests who might want to go in on a place together. Otherwise, the Waimea Plantation Cottages are the closest thing to a hotel nearby, and they're right next door. In any case, we recommend trying to book something as soon as possible. With limited availability in a place like West Kauai, we want to make sure everyone has somewhere to stay. Also, it's worth noting that our wedding planner actually said that we could pitch tents on the venue property if needed! So if you want to go festival-style, feel free to bring a tent and just crash on the lawn for the night.

Question

Is there an after party?

Answer

Kauai has some strict rules about 10 pm curfews for amplified sound (this is the country, y'all), but we're looking into options. If anything, we're hoping we can have a fire on the beach near the place and continue on with some of our own music or pack into the harbor house to keep the party going inside. But if anyone has an Airbnb within walking distance that could work, let us know!
