The First Night (as told by Allie) We met on an unseasonably warm February night in a frat house basement. Over the past few weeks, my friend Emily kept telling me that I have to meet Brian, mentioning how funny he is and how well we would get along. I rolled my eyes assuming she just wanted someone to double date with and not have to be the only other non-sorority girl at the party. Soon enough, our friend invited us to a party that the guys were at and we immediately ran over. I tried not to get too excited about the prospect of meeting this "Brian" and actually liking him. My first memory of Brian that night was him giving my best friend a hug on the stairs outside the house and I thought, "hmm, maybe he is a nice guy." An hour or so later we were dancing like lunatics to Third Eye Blind and having the best night. By the end of it, I already knew I was going to love this boy. The Proposal (as told by Brian) By the end of 2019, I knew it was time for me to pop the question or risk losing Allie to a long line of gentlemen waiting to court her. With a blessing from Allie's father, mother, two brothers, and sister, I devised a masterplan to propose on an upcoming trip we had planned to Florence, Italy (and if you know anything about us, you know how much we LOVE that city.) After sneaking the ring past TSA and feeling confident I wouldn't have to propose in front of a Cinnabon at JFK Airport, the real butterflies starting setting in. Within hours of landing we walked up to Piazza Michelangelo, which offers stunning panoramic views of the city (seen on our engagement photos.) Unbeknownst to Allie, I hired an undercover photographer to meet us at the location and capture our special moment. Finally, after 5 panic attacks and a lot of stalling, I got down on one knee and asked Allie the question I've been meaning to ask her since that February night in 2013. Fortunately she said yes and the rest is history!
