Matron of Honor
Linesister, cheer teammate, and bestie from college. We didn't quite get each other in the beginning, but now we're friends for life!
Best Man
The one that’s always down to ride and always has my back. My wing man. My accountability partner. I’ve known Scott since my early Tuskegee days and his friendship has never wavered. Despite being the one that used to only find trouble, he’s evolved into the one that saves people from it. Firefighter, EMT, safety bruh - always caring and concerned for everybody else — he’s the real deal, Holyfield.
Bridesmaid
My oldest friend - we were on the same competitive dance team at the age of 10. Dance and life kept us crossing paths periodically until college, and we've stuck together ever since!
Best Man
The one that just shows up. In every aspect. No matter what I have going on, I can count on him to show up and have my back. But he will definitely also “just show up” in the city with a call to just say, “I’m here Dawg... BE OWT.” We met in Younge Hall at Tuskegee University in 1996 and have been cracking jokes and wreaking havoc ever since. We were Resident Assistants together, literally ‘Big Men on Campus’, but more than anything we were brothers long before we were Da Bruhz. He loves as hard as I love and will fight with the same energy — on the strength of friendship and brotherhood alone. FIETTS.
Bridesmaid
We met in high school at a college visitation day, kept in touch, and then became college roomies. During our college days, we were joined at the hip and found our way back together once I made my way back to Atlanta.
Groomsman
The one who pushes me to be better. A business owner, Nupe, family man, and all around good dude. We met in 1996 in Younge Hall at Tuskegee University. He's been a staple in my support system for well over 20 years. He is one of the only Kappas I'll allow to be in my crew.
Bridesmaid
We're linesisters who've bonded over dance, sorority, August bdays, and a whole slew of other random commonalities. We reconnected when I made my way back to Atl, and I'm so grateful to call her friend!
Groomsman
The one with no filter. We met circa 1994 in a summer program at Tuskegee — and despite being high schoolers, we had both already decided that Tuskegee was the only choice. He's the straight shooter, all truth no chaser, and I can always count him to have the hard conversations — but also support me no matter what.
Bridesmaid
My future hubby's older sister. We still love her even though she asked to hear Mary J at our Beyonce Party. <3
Groomsman
The fearless one. He's a friend, frat brother, and master of "Tom foolery." He'll give you the shirt off his back, but then make you wear it even if it doesn't fit. Lee is the friend that always encourages me to bet on me. Your favorite Bruh’s favorite Bruh. FIETTS.
Bridesmaid
My future hubby's youngest sister and fellow Bey-hive member! #weloveBeyonce
Groomsman
The sensible one. Chris is my Tuskegee brother and my spiritual sounding board. He is my go to for all matters related to balancing this thing called life. He's also the tailgate king and our resident bartender.
Ceremony Musician
One of the most talented artists. He can have me in tears from laughter or deep in thought from one of his many profound statements. He's not only my brother; he's also one of my best friends.
Groomsman
The one who forced me to grow up. This is the nephew who’s been with me since I was a boy. He’s been hanging with me and the boys (all of whom he considers to be his Uncles as well) since he was in diapers. He attends ASU, but he's "Skegee-certified” because he grew up in the dorms at Tuskegee just like we did. He is great nephew and I’m a greater man for having him around.
Flower Girls
My beautiful little cousins!
Ring Bearer
The one who watches my every move. My youngest nephew — the swimming-est, non-swimmer that I’ve ever met. And also the one who thinks Shaté is his girlfriend rather than my fiancé. He’s the closest thing I have to a son (other than my other nephews). This guy steals hearts and the show wherever he goes and I wouldn’t dream of doing this without him.
