Bryce and Alicia met in June of 2018. Bryce is a Site Safety Coordinator for Blattner Energy and Alicia is a Project Construction Coordinator for Blattner Energy and found themselves working near Enid, Oklahoma on a Wind Farm together. Bryce and Alicia developed a friendship and would go out for drinks after work. Over a few months of dinners at Buffalo Wild Wings and going to Scooters for drinks and two-stepping, the friendship developed into a relationship.

Bryce and Alicia traveled to Nashville, Tennessee for New Year's with Alicia's family. Alicia's parents had reserved a spot at Top Golf with Bryce, Alicia, Alicia's sister Amanda, Amanda's boyfriend Bryan. The whole location counted down the seconds to 2020 and at midnight a fireworks display went off. Bryce kissed Alicia to welcome the New Year, got down on one knee, and asked Alicia to marry him.
